ARB Registration
Registration is the final step in becoming a Registered Architect. The five step process consists of submitting a logbook of ones apprenticeship period, submitting a detail case study of a built project, sit a written examination and do an oral interview with the Registration Board. The examination are held once per year in November.
There are a series of examination seminars put on by the JIA in the month prior to each examination. Once an applicant has successfully completed these stages he/she will be entered into the Register and assigned a registration number. Registered Architects are required to be licensed to practice each year. An Architects good standing, CPD requirements and an annual fee will allow eligibility to be licensed.

ARCHITECTS PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXAMINATION
Take notice that the joint Architects Registration Board/ Jamaican Institute of Architects' Examination will be held at the Liguanea Club, New Kingston on Saturday, 2011 November 19 at 9.00 o'clock in the forenoon.
Any person who holds a professional degree in Architecture from a university/certificate granting institution recognized by the Board and who otherwise qualifies to attend the examination may apply in writing on the prescribed Written Examination Application Form to the Architects Registration Board/Jamaican Institute of Architects, 5 Oxford Park Avenue, Kingston 5, not later than 12 noon on Friday, October 28 2011 submitting the following:
1. A recent photograph (not more than six months old) duly certified by a Justice of the Peace.*
2. A copy of his/her professional degree/diploma duly certified by a Justice of the Peace who has seen the original.*
3. Verification of CAA, NAAB or other validation/ accreditation of degrees/schools*
4. Verification of having successfully completed the JIA/ARB Practical Experience Scheme with Log Book.
5. Verification of having successfully completed his/her Case Study.
6. A non-refundable application fee of $12,000.00.
To this end a potential candidate for the Examination must also submit to the Board:
a. His/her Practical Experience Log Book and Outline of proposed Case Study by 12 noon on 2011 June 30
b. His/her Case Study by 12 noon on Friday 2011 September 02
